Imperial Skirmish Complete

Well, phase one is now complete. This will be the list I try out first. It is by no means "all options" as I would have to paint up the unarmored versions for all the cuirassier in the list. I plan on doing them, and 1 more Dragoon company, after I finish the Imperial Outpost list. So, without further ado, here are the Imperials...

8 companies of armored cuirassiers. 4 are veterans with arquebus. 2 full companies of dragoons are optional units for my list.

Colonel and Major command the force.

I will now work on my Outpost list for the Imperials. Next in line will be the unarmored options for the mounted list. Then it may be time to start my Transylvanians! We'll see.

I will keep you posted! Until then...

Imperial Dragoons

One of the options needed for my mounted list are some Dragoon companies. These 2 companies are also mandatory for the Defensive Skirmish list. I speed painted these so heavy on washes for my shading and very few highlights. Hey, they're Dragoons. They do the dirty work. Once fielded with the rest of the army I hope they will look just fine. Without further delay...

Imperial Dragoons

Each mounted figure has a corresponding dismounted figure in the same colors. Sadly the mix of figures isn't perfect but that is not an issue with the "3 foot rule"!

Next up we return to more armored cuirassier with arquebus as those blisters just showed up in the mail.

Until then...

Imperial Skirmish List

It sure has been a while since I have entered anything on either of my blogs. Not like me. Oh well, I am excited about starting a new project and hope to complete it and practice with it before the BFaS tournament at Historicon this July.  I was going to start my Transylvanian skirmish set but opted out at the last minute for the Holy Roman Empire. At the pace I paint I have a better chance at completing the HRE in time.

Okay. Enough of that. You are not here to read my ramblings so here are the first two companies of Imperials.

Veteran Cuirassier ready for combat. Two keys to my list are ALL my cuirassier will be armored. Second key is half my list are veterans and yes, you may have noticed, armed with an arquebus. Imperial lists are small so I want the troops to be well protected and flexible - shoot or close combat. We will see.

The Regulars. One of the units was painted years ago but will do until replaced for skirmish. I hope to do a full division some day and they will be mobilized again.

While I await my blisters to round out my armored with arquebus companies, I am starting some Dragoons which will add flexibility to my skirmish force as an option but are also needed for my Defensive Skirmish Force next up on the painting table, ummmm, June, hopefully!

Until next time...

Happy Gaming!!!
